The AHA moment
Hector built his career around deep technical expertise in heating, cooling, and refrigeration. His AHA moment was the recognition that those skills, combined with the right business foundation, could support a company of his own — one that he could grow on his own terms.
The SFBI difference
Hector joined SFBI in 2017 and credits the incubator with giving him the advisory support and ecosystem he needed at the beginning — when startup questions are strangest and most urgent. The combination of experienced advisors, access to attorneys and financial professionals, and a network of partners gave Husky the infrastructure of a mature company long before it could have built it alone. The SFBI staff, Hector says, are always willing to pull out their contacts to connect clients to new resources or find answers on their behalf.
Growth
Husky started primarily as a commercial HVAC and refrigeration operation. Since graduating in 2020, the business has diversified to a 50/50 split between commercial and residential work, grown revenues sufficiently to purchase its own commercial property and shop, and expanded its workforce.
