The AHA moment
Olivia spent years in heavy-duty restoration cleaning — vandalism, fire, floods, mold. The work required products that were chemically harmful to her and to the environment. She was determined to build something different: a company that changed both the cleaning supplies and the process.
The SFBI difference
Green Choice started at home, but Olivia began attending SFBI events and immediately found a network of people. Once she moved into SFBI, clients came through the building itself. WESST, SFBI's on-site partner, helped write her first business plan and she learned about bonding insurance. She started engaging the programming. And anytime she had a question, SFBI staff put everything aside to answer it — or find someone who could.
Growth
Olivia started with one residential client at a time — just her. Then St. John's College hired Green Choice and the business expanded into commercial work. Today the company has five full-time employees and handles ten to twelve sites a day. The goal is to grow the commercial side to 40% of the client base.
