So go ahead and order takeout or curbside pickup from your favorite local restaurants\, breweries and distilleries and join in virtually to share who you supported for the occasion. SUMMARY:The Promise and Opportunity of 3D Printing— A Seminar
DESCRIPTION:To celebrate National Manufacturing Day\, SCORE\, Fab Lab Hub\, the Santa Fe Business Incubator\, and Make Santa Fe are hosting a FREE event exploring the promise and opportunity of 3D Printing. From aerospace to healthcare\, biotech to consumer products\, and art to fashion\, additive manufacturing is changing how we make things. \nSee 3D printers and the products they have manufactured including microfluidic devices\, molds for jewelry\, functional prototypes\, art\, prosthetics and more! \nYou’ll also hear from two leading voices in the additive manufacturing field\, John Hornick and Sarah Boisvert\, explaining the promise and opportunity of 3D Printing. \nJohn Hornick\, is an IP attorney who has followed the development of 3D printing and the impact this technology might have on the world and our lives. John authored the book 3D Printing Will Rock The World in which he discusses how 3D printing will change the way products are designed and manufactured. He outlines how new jobs will be created as a result of 3D printing; jobs that do not exist today. The potential of 3D printing is beyond what many today can visualize but John’s presentation helps us see future potential. His presentation is both educational and entertaining. \nSarah Boisvert has more than 30 years of experience in the design\, development and commercialization of high-technology products utilizing digital fabrication including laser machining and 3D printing. She is the author of New Collar Workforce. Ms. Boisvert will discuss how the use of these new technologies can serve as a vehicle to restore the middle class in America via employment opportunities with good paying jobs based on digital technology. The demand for technology-trained workers exists today and will continue to grow across industries as disruptive technologies take hold. This is especially true in manufacturing.

SUMMARY:Eureka Effect for BioScience Companies
DESCRIPTION:The award winning Eureka Effect returns to the Santa Fe Business Incubator on Tuesday\, August 13th. \nThe Eureka Effect was created by the Santa Fe Business Incubator to help stimulate and foster Eurekas by bringing together small businesses\, startups and scientists from Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) in fun and thought provoking ways. It takes the form of a speed dating night where small businesses and startups are visited by scientists for 5 minutes at a time. Each business visits with approximately 6 scientists throughout the course of the night. The businesses come away with advice from some of the smartest people on the planet\, a start to the process of receiving between $20\,000 and $40\,000 in technical assistance through LANL and the New Mexico Small Business Assistance (NMSBA) program at no cost to the business\, plus a whole lot of Eurekas. \nThis Eureka Effect is specifically for BioScience Companies in New Mexico. The Santa Fe Business Incubator has teamed up with the NMSBA to bring BioScience companies the smartest scientists\, the best information on available assistance\, and the most eurekas all within the greatest platonic match making service this side of the Rio Grande. \nIt’s like Speed Dating Only Smarter. It’s the Eureka Effect! \nSpace is limited. Must register by July 29th. Please register HERE. \nFood\, drinks and geniuses are provided free of charge.

SUMMARY:Entrepreneur Story Time: Woodruff Scientific & SciVista
DESCRIPTION:So how does a Santa Fe-based physicist accelerate the development of commercial fusion? By building Woodruff Scientific\, where he and his team provide assistance with all stages of scientific innovation: concept design\, engineering design\, procurement\, fabrication\, installation\, testing\, and operations. What they’ve built\, they now offer as products and what they’ve learned to do\, they offer as services. Founder Dr. Simon Woodruff is going to tell us all about it\, including how the scientific computing boot camps he runs each year led to the founding of another one of his ventures\, SciVista\, which provides virtual room sharing so that data scientists can share their ideas in real-time. \nAnd LiAnn Morales and her husband Raul will welcome the KAESF back to their authentic family restaurant\, where they’ve been serving up some of the best and freshest tacos in Santa Fe since opening El Callejon Santa Fe in 2016. \nAs always\, arrive on time to grab a drink to enjoy during story time. And don’t plan to rush off afterwards\, as you’ll want to take some time to schmooze and get to know like-minded Santa Feans just as enthused about supporting our entrepreneur community as you are.
